Bio

Rachel Thomasin crafts ethereal pop with a sharp edge, forming collages of sound through infectious vocal tapestries, reverberating guitars, and distorted synth lines. One of Boston’s best-kept musical secrets, the Massachusetts-based artist started making her mark in experimental pop in 2013 with a selection of self-released recordings on Bandcamp, and has continued to write, produce, and record songs consistently ever since.

Her atmospheric style has drawn comparisons to Cocteau Twins, Bat For Lashes, Florence + the Machine, and Grimes. Notable collaborations include an EP released by Virginia cassette tape label Otherworldly Mystics, which FACT magazine described as “impeccably produced” and “simply beautiful”,  and a feature on a compilation of local artists put out by Boston record label Static Motor Records. Her enigmatic lyrical style and haunting vocal lines are poised to reach a wider audience with the independent release of new tracks “Sun’s Daughter” and “Try on the Crown”.
